Honoring the harmony in Nature is critical, as it keeps us in tune with ourselves and with others. It emphasizes that we all share this planet together and, despite the diversity, that we are all one. Using the natural world as a metaphor, the three sections represent the variety of environments and creatures within our city. And, in connecting those sections, the piece illustrates how the Atlanta BeltLine hopes to link the disparate neighborhoods of Atlanta.
Additionally, the design showcases and represents the union of the three artists, all from different backgrounds and of different cultures and with different styles, who worked in cooperation to create art for the city that they love.
Completed with Peter Ferrari and Brandon Sadler for Art on the Atlanta Beltline, the initiative is helping to augment a sustainable redevelopment project, which provides a network of public parks, multi-use trails, and transit along a historic 22-mile railroad corridor circling downtown Atlanta.
